So it has been a while since the last post.
We have been so busy with the move and getting the new location together. It has been hard work, but the rewards have been fantastic!
We are so happy to be meeting new customers every day who never knew about our store. We are also elated to see the familiar faces who have followed us here. The new store couldn’t be in a better spot!
Please stop on by when you are downtown running errands, getting lunch, or getting an ice cream cone at the Baskin Robbins that is next to us.

I have been searching for a cute spring themed recipe to post up here, and i’ve found one that is sweet and simple.
Spring Cupcakes will be easy to make and will let little chefs help out in the kitchen, which will be fun for both of you! This recipe was found on Amazing Mom’s website, check it out here.

Spring Cupcakes:
You’ll Need:
white or yellow cake mix
white frosting
Flavors and decorations will vary:
gum drops (”Dots” work best), jelly beans,
gummi candies; orange, cherry or strawberry shapes, food color,
orange zest, lemon zest or flavoring, cherry flavoring…
scissors
butter knife for spreading frosting
paper cupcake liners
NOTE-Zest is the outer colored portion of the citrus peel.
Freshly grated orange, lime or lemon zest provides a much better flavor
than liquid flavorings or dried zest. Simply use a very fine grater (adult job) on just the outer layer of the fruit. Do not grate down to the white rind to avoid a bitter flavor.
Make cupcakes according to the instructions on the box.
You may choose to add flavors/color or simply keep them white
and then decorate.
To Decorate:
Daffodil
Use clean scissors to cut the gum drops. Our daffodil decoration was fashioned with a yellow gum drop cut in half. Then cut one half again.
The green stems on our cupcakes were made with green DOTS candies.
We cut pieces and then stretched them into stems.
You can also cut pieces from fruit roll-ups.
Jelly Bean flower
Use small jelly beans. Simply place the jelly beans in a flower shape.
We also show a flower made with Skittles fruit candies.
Orange, Strawberry and Cherry
Color the frosting pink, light green, orange or yellow. Add fruit zest for the citrus decorations.
Frost the cupcakes then top with a cherry, strawberry, orange or lemon gummi candy. You’ll find these shaped gummi candies at your local mall Sweet Shop. Some fruit snack candies come in fun fruit shapes as well.

Here is a cute article from a Mom who remembers her (early) first crush in Kindergarten. It is a response to a question posted at Mamapedia.
“My first crush was in Kindergarten. He was the tallest boy in the class and I followed him around like Tinkerbell following Peter Pan. I remember staring at him adoringly.
In later years it became apparent to me that my initial attraction may have had something to do with the fact that I had three older brothers and an additional 10 male cousins, with nary a female in sight. I’m sure his height reminded me of the “older” men in my life.
Then in first grade my first love letter was confiscated by the teacher. It was written in sky blue which was the most awesome color in my box of 64 crayons. I sat by my crush and wrote a note: Do you like me? I like you. Circle yes or no.
The moment the note was passed, Mrs. Campbell asked for me to walk it up to her.
Oh, the shame. “

I’d like to thank everyone for their continued support of our beautifully revised website as well as the brick and mortar (we are excited about our new move next month to 232 E Street). Our virtual store is now looking so smooth and professional because Carmen Isais did a remarkable job setting up the site as well as teaching us about the many different aspects of the web store. Thank you for your patience through the many meetings. And a special thenks to our own Ms. Emerald without whom there’d be no web store. She has imported, updated, transformed, downloaded, filed, stored, and created every blog or website related text or image in addition to taking on most of the web marketing responsibilities all while running our store in Davis. Thank you.
Well, look forward to seeing or hearing from all my favorite customers, soon. As always I’m searching the globe for the newest, hottest, most fun educational toys, puzzles, and games.
See Ya,
Loren
